December 5th is a travel day and training should wrap-up on Thursday afternoon. Please do not schedule return itineraries No Earlier Than 1630 on 8 December. The DOD VPP CX Assessor Course is the exact same course that CX personnel are required to take as part of their training in support of the DOD VPP required Baseline and Application Readiness Assessments. The course was originally developed by former OSHA VPP assessors and certified safety professionals. The course replicates the identical training provided to all OSHA employees and those folks acting as "Special Government Employees" in conducting assessments of VPP Star applicants. Requirements: This course is primarily intended to prepare instructor(s) to train others within their organizations to conduct VPP Baseline Assessments and "Readiness" assessments in preparation for submitting site VPP applications to OSHA. However, collateral benefits for anyone attending include a better understanding of the OSHA recognition programs as well as the ability to recognize the attributes of "best in class" safety programs. Individuals with a DOD safety background and/or familiarity with OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs will benefit most but knowledge of VPP is not a prerequisite for attending.
